INTRODUCTION
In late 2008 I re-discovered [in box under couch] a series of mixed media paintings I created of scenes of Northampton in 1997. After not seeing them for a decade, I realized how much I liked them, and wanted to create more works in a similar style. Alas, I discovered that I was unable to approximate my old style–whatever I had been doing in the 20th century was no longer part of my 21st century vocabulary. I decided to dedicate myself to learning traditional watercolor painting and create new works.
WATERCOLORS
JANUARY
These paintings are mainly small studies of a scene of Casa del Sol in Northampton. I was mostly getting used to working with the watercolors and the paper. On January 22 I had my first painting class taught by Rey Milici.
