A BRIEF HISTORY:

From 1991-1995, under the moniker “Planet 3.9” I created a plethora of conceptual video art. I am currently digitizing/archiving these projects on this page: Planet 3.9

I began painting in 1993 while living in Jamaica Plain. I was in several group shows while living in Boston, including two with the Boston Visionary Cell at the Federal Reserve Gallery.

I exhibited at the Pahana Gallery in Northampton numerous times between 1995-1999.

I spent much of the “aughts” (2000-2009) photographing wild birds.

In 2009 I started painting again.

Heather and I occasionally have a few items for sale at our etsy store called banana watercolor, but if you see something in one of the galleries on this blog that you would like to purchase, or if you have any questions/comments, just send me an e-mail chrisgentes@yahoo.com

  1. hi Chris,
I’m currently studying art and design as one of my A Levels. My topic this year is Caterpillars and butterflies. As part of the course we have to an appreciation piece of our chosen topic and I chose to do your watercolour caterpillar in poster paint and pastels, but to go along side our course we have to write a personal investigation and part of the section is a brief written background on the artist you chose to do which includes dates, where they studied, type of work and media used, subject matter and use of colour if you could please get back to me I would really appreciate it.
    thanks
    lizzie
